Here’s the list of NASCAR Hall of Fame Inaugural nominees:
BOBBY ALLISON
BUCK BAKER
RED BYRON
RICHARD CHILDRESS
DALE EARNHARDT
RICHIE EVANS
TIM FLOCK
BILL FRANCE JR.
WILLIAM H.G. FRANCE
RICK HENDRICK
NED JARRETT
JUNIOR JOHNSON
BUD MOORE
RAYMOND PARKS
BENNY PARSONS
DAVID PEARSON
LEE PETTY
RICHARD PETTY
FIREBALL ROBERTS
HERB THOMAS
CURTIS TURNER
DARRELL WALTRIP
JOE WEATHERLY
GLEN WOOD
CALE YARBOROUGH
Of those on the list, I’d guess Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt and Big Bill France are locks. Then I’d give a nod to Cale Yarborough. After those four, it gets murky.
The fifth, and final spot will go to, heck, I don’t know. I’m thinking Buck Baker, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, or Junior Johnson. I just don’t know.
We’ll find out eventually.
