A couple of years ago the McDonalds at Haygood Rd and Independence Blvd remodeled to the new design. This location has always been quick to remodel, and this was no exception. What a great McD’s it turned out to be.
After the re-opening I hit the drive thru and the staff was wonderful, polite and prompt. The interior was great with Wi-Fi, plasma, and quick service.
Let’s get this straight, I love McD’s. Yeah, it’s not the best food, but it’s damn good and quick.
But something happened along the way. The service staff has become more arrogant, rude, and less attentive. Sure, there’s a few employees that do a good job and are polite, but the majority aren’t.
I’m always very polite when ordering saying “thank you” and “please” because I’ve been there. My first job was at McDonalds on Northampton. I understand the work they’re doing and the difficulty it entails.
When I say “thank you”, respond, “you’re welcome”, don’t ignore my words. When I’m about to pay, don’t look at me and say, “five nineteen”, say “Hello, that’ll be $5.19”. Don’t give me my change and say, “here ya go”, tell me what you’re giving me.
I’m not sure what happened there, but Chick-fil-a and Wendy’s are just across the street and that’s where I go now.
Too bad, too.
Don’t the employees realize this hurts them? I just don’t get it.
FWIW, the Haygood Chic-fil-a has the most polite employees I’ve ever bumped up against. They’re absolutely wonderful.
