We took the little monster to Guadalajara Restaurant at Shore Dr. and Great Neck for some lunch. It can be a pretty busy place, so we went after the noon rush around 2pm. No need to have a little carpet crawler in a busy place.
There were only two tables setted when we arrived, one an 8 top and the other about the same.
As with most Mexican restaurants there was plenty of help standing around.
After someone looked away from the TV and realized we were there, just a few seconds, but enough to annoy me, they sat us.
MMmmmm, can’t wait for the chips and dip that’s also common and usually the first thing to hit the table. Not this time.
We ordered our drinks and waited, and waited, and waited. Where are the chips?! We’ve got our drinks and menu’s, but NO CHIPS! I WANT MY CHIPS!!!
Sometime later, after the chips were nearly gone, we got to order. Quick and painless, but my soda is nearly empty.
What is it with these people? They’re usually fairly quick. Not as fast as Plaza Azteca, but plenty fast.
The food arrives, the chips and my soda have been empty, and I’m thirsty. To the waiter’s credit, he refilled both right away…. After I sat my empty glass near the end of the table.
The food was typically bland so as not to offend anyone’s taste buds. Now that’s fine, but have some sauces on the table please. Plaza Azteca does.
One thing that really gets me mad when I eat out is having to wait for the check. This is the worst time for the waitstaff to screw up because I’m about to leave a tip.
We had to wait. I really hate that and now I’m pissed off.
Wait to be seated, wait for food, wait for drinks, wait for check. Wait, wait, wait. Did I mention I hate waiting? Especially when a place isn’t busy? Especially when a place has plenty of staff? Oh yeah, that TV near the bathrooms is on.
Yes, we’ll go back. I mean, it’s cheap Mexican, right?
