My review of our family’s last visit to Guadalajara restaurant on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach had many more views than I thought it would get. With that in mind, I thought it was important to follow up after our visit last night.
I don’t know if the restaurant owners were some of those that read the previous review, but things were much better yesterday.
The waitstaff didn’t seem overwhelmed this time by that crazy thing on the wall called a TV. The host sat us immediately, chips and dips hit the table within moments of us taking our seat and the waiter was right there with a friendly smile ready for our drink order. No waiting!
When you have a baby and want to go out to eat, you really can’t beat Mexican for speed.
I had beef nachos with none of that green crap they call guacamole. I know it’s good for me, blah-blah-blah, but I just don’t care for it. It’s green muck, after-all.
The nachos were fine, not spicy and not offensive to any taste buds except for the salsa. Wow, where was that last time we were there? It was fiery and tasty.
There was plenty of cheese, beef, chips and salad stuff on top.
The wife had some crab thing that didn’t look good at all, but she liked it so that’s all that matters, I guess.
The waiter, Juan, Pedro, Diaz, hell, I don’t know what it his name was, kept an eye on us and his adjacent tables and seemed to serve everyone promptly. Not once did we run out of anything. I didn’t notice any errors making it to tables, and when I asked for the check we got it promptly. Kudos to him.
As I said before, it’s Mexican, it’s cheap, and we’ll go back.
Oh, if you’re wondering if I left a tip, of course I did. That post was sarcastic. Get it?
