This is all about an easy way to give your baby medicine. Our 11 month old son has been sick so we’ve been tasked with having to give him medicine twice a day. What joy…
He started out ok with us squirting the medicine into his mouth, but quickly tired of it, so we had to come up with a new, better way. Since he likes to be in control my wife figured why not let him.
We now put the medicine in the syringe and give it to him. He likes to chew on it and it makes him happy. Then with me holding him and us praising him, she squeezes the syringe just a bit to get the medicine in. Boy child usually pulls away for a second, we praise him, he smiles and giggles, and we do it all over again until it’s empty.
It only takes a minute, no crying, and it’s very easy.
Next time you need to give your child medicine, give it to him. I think you’ll be surprised at how easy it is.
EDIT: Babies get older and smarter. Try this updated method my wife figured out nearly a year later.
