The wife and I took the children to the Chrysler Museum of Art yesterday to check out the Norman Rockwell exhibit. The collection is amazing.
When we arrived we made our donation and headed straight for the Rockwell exhibit. I couldn’t believe so many of his works were so familiar.
The 6yr old, our budding artist, drew inspiration from many of his works. She especially enjoyed his paintings of children.
Wobble Walker loved the lights. Hey, he’s a baby, what do you expect?!?!
We spent about 45 minutes looking at the exhibit. It would have been nice to spend more, but we didn’t want to push it with the children. They were being great and we didn’t want to ruin it.
I let the boy get free for a minute to stretch his legs. It was cute seeing him wobble around so close to some of the pieces. Then I let him crawl which was a big mistake. I could tell by the look of horror on my wife’s face as he slid his hands, feet and knees across the floor. Out came the disinfectant!
If you want something to do this weekend, head on down and check it out. Who knows how long it will be until you can see so many of Rockwell’s works together again locally.
