The Virginian Pilot is laying off more employeesin wake of the recession. The print version of the very liberal, arts oriented Port Folio Weekly, will cease to exist, but according to the Pilot the website, http://www.portfolioweekly.com/, will remain.
Mix, a multi-cultural rag will end with the March edition.
According to Maurice Jones of the Pilot both rags were losing money. You think?
Here’s the really great part for all of you that still subscribe to the Pilot, it looks like elements from Port Folio may appear in the Thursday edition of the Pilot. LMAO!!! Plus they may add to the annual African American Today. OMG!
So they’re going to take the Pilot that’s in financial turmoil to begin with, and add elements from two failed ragazines. Sounds great, just lump all the failures in with one heading down hill to create one big snowball.
I pity you that still read that garbage.
Here’s a few ideas from the comments section of that article: Increase readers by changing your views of the news. Go to Obama for some bailout money. Stop wasting ink on big, colorful pics of the prez. Get business readers back by returning to a real biz section. Hire a conservative writer or two. Stop firing real reporters.
